In the forest at night… 0

Yesterday I did a night shoot for Tangent Design. They do coffee tables and TV units. Really nice and cool stuff. You can customize the color etc. Check out their stuff at: http://tangentdesign.co.nz/

Here are the raw photos, just as I shot them. We had a blast shooting! Let me know what you think!

Tessa and Dave 0

Tessa and Dave live in Melbourne and came here to get married on a nice sunny and perfect Canterbury day!
Since things never go according to the plan, we couldn’t find the location we were supposed to go and do photos at… It was some sort of museum that Tessa went to check out. It sound like a cool place :)
Nevermind. On our way to the never-found museum I spotted a couple of places that I liked. The first one was a sort of farm with tractors, wheels and old stuff. “Hello, is someone there???” No answer. Let’s go guys! OOh, you should have seen Tessa’s face… slightly stressed out :)
Then, we stopped at the paddock I spotted, went above the barb wire, managed to rip Dave’s pants (oouch).
All worth it! Big time, look at the stunning photos we got!
Cheers Tessa and Dave.

The cutest wedding ever! 0

Life being what it is you never know what’s going to happen next. But you know what your past is like!
Therese and Jim have been together for twenty years before he proposed. Yes, twenty years!
After twenty years together Therese and Jim knew they were made for each other and if some people might have doubt about each other these guys didn’t! Jim dropped a few tears. I resisted not too…
They were so cute. Obviously they didn’t go the traditional way when it came down to their wedding, something simple, no white dress (cool orange dress though!), gorgeous cakes, beautiful location and of course dear friends and daughters.
Thanks to you two my dear clients

OK, that might sounds very stupid but can’t you see the love in this photo?

Me myself and my self-timer 2

I was early to a wedding and I forgot my book to read.
I like this road, it’s just before you get to the mountains, it’s beautiful in winter when you go early in the morning to go snowboarding. The light was crap at that time of the day but I decided to ignore the problem.
Recently someone told me to follow the path. I haven’t seen the path yet but I saw a line. So I followed it :)
How I did it? I put the camera on a box in the middle of the road, focused on the line, pressed the shutter, ran like mad (try that 15 times), turned around and pretended to be super relaxed for the camera. Et voilĂ !

A helicopter ride! 1

I was having a bad week. Then got an email from Haley telling me the helicopter ride was confirmed when I thought it was cancelled.
Woohhooooo, imagine my excitation! It was a stunning perfect typical Canterburian day, nice sunny, light wind. Everything was perfect, Haley the bride, the bridemaids, Matiu the groom, the groomsmen (Hi Daanieeel!), the weather, the place. But the most perfect of all was the helicopter ride!!!!! We went on top of a mountain, when Blair the pilot said this is where we’re landing I thought he was joking, it looked quite small from up there. Well, we made a safe landing, did few shots of Haley and Matiu and then went in circles around them and got some wicked shots. The sun wasn’t where I wanted it to be but hey, it was there so I’m not complaining!
As you might have guessed from the photos, Matiu is a hunter, it’s his passion, they live in a farm somewhere at the bottom of the moutains, so for them it did make sense to go and do photos around there.
Thanks Haley and Matiu for having me!

Goat and Vicky 0

Vicky and Mark got married ten days ago. They’ve been together for a long long time, they had some up and some down moments together but this year was the year were all these down moments were put behind them!
They have the cutest boys.
After the ceremony, James, their 12 year old was in tears (joy I guess) and gave the biggest hug to his mumma. Very cute. I almost dropped a tear too!
Now. Everyone called Mark goat. There was a goat on the wedding cake (a miniature obviously!). I couldn’t figure out why he was called like that… nevermind!
Thanks guys for having me!

The 14th of february 0

Yesterday. I was at a wedding, looking for something in the kitchen when something suddenly grabbed my attention! Honestly, how cool is this packaging??
I’m not big on Valentines day but couldn’t help myself thinking this was a pretty damn cute photo to do and send to the people I care for.

So voilĂ . If you’re short on idea for Valentines, you’re welcome to copy this photo and send it to who ever rocks your world!
